HEDNA Milan: Hotel & Entertainment Highlights

HEDNA Milan: Hotel and Entertainment Spotlight

For this year’s European  Global Distribution Conference, we have selected the Quark Hotel Milan, a unique hotel in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of city center Milan. Not to worry –  you can still be at Duomo in under 20 minutes but you can also check out the Navigli and Darsena districts located just a short taxi ride from the hotel.

Navigli, which means canals,  is named after the two canals that run through the area. The canals trace back to Leonardo da Vinci, who was tasked with making the city of Milan accessible by water. Once used for the transportation of goods, they are now a picturesque setting for Navigli’s restaurants, bars and shopping.

Darsena, which also traces its roots back to the original canals, is a bit less established than Navigli, but is often described as embodying the soul of Milan, with some of the most sought after dining, nightlife and up and coming designer shops. Darsena can be reached in under 10 minutes by taxi.

If you’d prefer to stay closer to the hotel, the Parco Nord Milano is a beautiful park a short walk from the hotel and is the perfect spot for a morning jog or a brisk walk before the day begins. There are several close by restaurants.

The Quark Hotel Milan will serve as our host and just completed a full property renovation in April.  This renovation included all guest rooms, public spaces and conference rooms. Their newly revamped dining philosophy focuses on a return to simple Italian fare using fresh ingredients and their lobby bar will be the ideal place to relax with a cocktail after your jam-packed day of sessions, networking and meetings with HEDNA. But you can’t get too comfortable, as you’ll need to regroup in time for our opening cocktail reception on Tuesday and HEDNA’s offsite event at Dazi Milano on Wednesday.

Dazi Milano is located in the Piazza Sempione and is adjacent to the Arco della Pace, or the Arch of Peace, which marked the end of the Napoleanic wars. The Piazza is surrounded by a vibrant park that is home to the Sforza Castle Museum, and the Palazzo Dell’Arte. In addition to the historic and beautiful surroundings, HEDNA’s offsite will be a curated event with craft cocktails, Italian fare and a DJ for dancing. Shuttle service will be provided at the beginning and end of the event. Please be prepared for a 20 minute ride each way.

As with our most recent HEDNA Conferences, you’ll want to be onsite Tuesday after lunch for our interactive breakout sessions and be sure to stay through Thursday mid-afternoon to catch all the action on our main stage. If you plan on heading off property for dinner after our welcome reception, we recommend you make your reservations in advance, as local restaurants can fill up quickly in the evening.
