Working Together to Further HEDNA's Mission

HEDNA’s vision and mission are not possible without the help of our volunteers. Consider getting involved today to help drive the association and industry forward. HEDNA offers a variety of committees covering different aspects of the association.

Membership

Develop new and innovative ways to attract members and retain current membership through communications and member engagement. Work closely with the treasurer on budgets and forecasting for member related goals and revenue. Engage with other associations and our management team to explore best practices for membership structures. Oversee the creation of membership drives. Make recommendations for member fees, membership structure and membership tiers.

Education

HEDNA’s Education or “HEDNA U” committee is responsible for creating HEDNA’s educational materials and fostering a learning environment for our members and partners. HEDNA U is composed of in person classroom style courses, online webinars, and published materials. The goal of our education committee is to educate members and the industry overall on distribution best practices and elevating distribution learning across the hospitality industry.

Marketing

Represent HEDNA’s brand and guide the direction of our marketing. Ensure HEDNA’s business goals are reflected externally by providing tangible instruction on content and intended look and feel of the brand by creating marketing calendars, brand templates and avenues for extended and new reach.

Sponsorship

The Sponsorship committee is responsible for positioning the role of sponsorships within HEDNA, the implementation of the annual sponsorship campaign, creating sponsorship goals as well as maintaining relationships with the existing sponsors throughout the year. The sponsor co-chairs will work closely with the treasurer on budgets and forecasting for sponsor related goals and revenue. The committee will seek out best practices from other leading Associations and consult our management company in order to make recommendations to the program that are in line with HEDNA’s goals and are consistent with up to date sponsor program trends.

Conference

The Conference committee ensures that all conferences align with HEDNA’s event goals, namely that they are: effective places for intellectual, aesthetic, and professional learning and exchange; reflects the diverse interests of the membership; and provides opportunities for participation. This group will oversee the direction of all conferences by assisting with location and hotel selection; soliciting and shaping program content, working in conjunction with the marketing and sponsorship committees on conference related functions and providing input to the treasurer on event budgeting and forecasting. The conference Board liaisons are responsible for creating individual conference content committees of up to two board members that will assist with content creation.

Future Leaders of HEDNA

The Future Leaders group will responsible for ushering in the next generation of leaders in hospitality distribution and specifically for HEDNA. This group will engage in the professional development of our young leaders by providing professional networking and coaching opportunities. This group will also take active roles in HEDNA’s communications strategies around member recruitment, conference and educational content and HEDNA’s elections and candidate outreach.

HEDNA Disciplines

Learn more about our disciplines and get involved.

Content Distribution

This group is passionate about transformative content practices that define compelling information that educates, visually stimulates and engages. In collaboration with the adjacent Connectivity Discipline, we will evolve Attribute-Based Selling, providing holistic guidance to our membership.

Connectivity

HEDNA’s Connectivity Discipline will provide direction on the best practices to all involved parties requesting live rates from hotels.  We will define clear guidelines on managing the massive amount of volume, including certifying vendors based on their features and technology.  Education, guidance and consultation are the keys to maximizing connectivity for all parties involved.

Payments

The HEDNA Payments Discipline, with global payment experts from our industry and outside, is on a mission to bring payments innovations into the hospitality experience – whether it is about guests, B2B payments or third-party compensations. Through education and best practices, we’re looking for optimal solutions and ROI opportunities to create a collaborative process where payments add value in addition to fulfil their purpose.

Data & Analytics

Analytics impacts every aspect of a business, from revenue, to marketing, to distribution, and beyond. Because of analytics’ broad impact, the Data Analytics Discipline is equally broad to capture these different perspectives. The goal of this discipline is to empower hoteliers to collect, store, analyze and use their data to make intelligent decisions about their strategies.

Revenue Optimization

The Revenue Optimization Discipline will identify what data attributes must be captured in distribution channels and determine whether the technology platforms – both connectivity and revenue optimization – are robust enough to handle the needs of today’s commercial teams. The discipline helps to identify new data elements that impact top of the revenue funnel, including attribute-based selling, which will increase the number of products being sold exponentially. The discipline will also develop recommendations about required connectivity enhancements to handle new data elements and messaging volume, and identify any dependencies related to revenue optimization cycles through automated revenue management platforms.
