As an organization dedicated to addressing and assisting with the hospitality industry's electronic distribution needs, we felt it important to find out more about what those needs are. As part of the HEDNA member survey, our members were asked what they believed were the Top 10 Issues the industry and their own organizations were having to deal with. Here is the compiled results of that inquiry. We are very excited to address these exact topics at the Prague conference this April. As members, we hope you will be attending and helping us further solutions for each of them.
TOP 10 ISSUES
1. Connectivity: How to connect to distribution companies and other booking entities. Includes rationale for direct connect vs. 3rd party, by segment, by channel, etc.
2. Channel Management: Addressing issues with extranets and/or availability by channel expense.
3. Content: Striving for consistent content for descriptive content, still pictures and rich media.
4. Mobile Applications: Identifying issues and challenges with this next segment of channels.
5. Dynamic Packaging: Enhancing and increasing hotel bookings by automating package elements.
6. Wholesaler/Tour Operators: Current emphasis on automating leisure distribution channels.
7. Social Media: Preparing and marketing appropriately for these emerging channels.
8. Rate Parity: Responding to rate parity pressures and challenges.
9. Marketing: Issues regarding the application of traditional marketing to electronic marketing.
