Identified by Lodging Magazine as one of the ten hospitality experts changing the travel industry, John Burns established Hospitality Technology Consulting to help hotels and other travel companies deal successfully with the increasingly complex world of electronic travel distribution. Born and educated in Canada, Burns began his hotel management career at university conference centers, first in Ottawa, Ontario and then in Vancouver, B.C. Burns founded Hospitality Technology Consulting in May 1992. Since then, as HTC's president, he has headed this international consulting service specializing in assisting hotel chains and independent hotels in optimizing their central reservations and electronic distribution programs. Strategic planning of reservations and successful management of central reservation systems and centers are also core consulting interests. Burns has authored three training programs for HEDNA as well as numerous articles for hotel and travel industry publications.

He's a bestselling author, a hands-on consultant and a keynote speaker, and his books have been translated in more than a half-dozen languages and are the recipients of multiple awards.
Two of his books have been collaborations with and studies of the hospitality industry, including his upcoming book, The Heart of Hospitality, which includes contributions from leaders and practitioners in the hospitality industry. Micah is a regular contributor to Forbes.com and his expertise has been featured in Inc. Magazine, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, CNBC, and the Harvard Business Review.
A business leader and entrepreneur himself, Micah built his own company into a market leader in the manufacturing and independent entertainment field and was also an early investor in the technology behind Apple's Siri.

Gary Schwartz has played a key leadership role in the mobile industry since founding Impact Mobile, a mobile technology company specialized in retail and brand solutions, since 2002. He is a pioneer in mobile marketing and managed the first cross-carrier short code mobile campaign in North America. In 2006 Gary founded the mobile committee for the Interactive Advertising Bureau, where he spearheaded the production of important industry resources such as the Mobile Buyer's Guide.

Jim Pickell is the President of HomeExchange.com, an advisor, angel investor, and frequent speaker. He joined HomeExchange as the chief operating officer in 2012 and quickly closed three acquisitions, contributing to the doubling of the company's membership that is now comprised of 66,000+ listings around the world.
Previously, Pickell founded several companies including OpenEnglish.com, Latin America's leading online language school, now with more than 2,000 employees. He served as Senior Vice President of Sony Connect, where he was responsible for leading the digital distribution of films, music, and eBooks. He started his career as an attorney focused on mergers and acquisitions but ultimately sought to collaborate with like-minded thinkers and pursue ideas that influence postive change. His quest lead him to HomeExchange.com, first as a member and now as a core part of what he calls "a 24 year-old startup"
Pickell is a member of the board of the Family Travel Association and an adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Argyros School of Business and Economics. Pcikell holds a degree in economics from UC Berkeley, a law degree from Loyola Law School, and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
