HEDNA's GDS Committees perform the vital function of communicating the hotel industry's specific interests and needs to each Global Distribution System.
Committees have been established for four GDSs:
HEDNA's GDS Committees meet at every HEDNA conference, as well as intermittently between conferences, on an "as needed" basis. At these meetings the members, which usually represent a mix of hoteliers and travel agents together with representatives of the GDS, discuss:
Each committee maintains a list of open and closed points, which describe either unaddressed, in process, or completed system changes.
- previously identified system enhancements, or shortcomings, and check progress on their completion/resolution
- newly identified system issues
- learn about the GDS's plans for future modifications or enhancements to the system or its administration
GDS Committees each have a permanent chair or co-chair, who serve in that position for one year. Individual members are encouraged to attend one GDS committee's meetings on a constant basis, but they remain free to select the committee they wish to join at each conference.
