Unique Global Identifiers (UGIs) for the Hospitality Industry
A world wide identification standardization project has been initiated to develop and deploy a public domain solution for the
hospitality industry.
We believe in the free exchange of information within our industry and want to add value to increase the flow of trade and revenue
on a global basis.

Standards - Content Management - Structured Content Initiative
An initiative is underway to standardize the structure of hotel descriptive content that is core to the distribution of
hotels both online and through the GDSs. Much of this information is either not consistently available or often delivered as free
form text, making it difficult for hotel providers, intermediaries and distributors to utilize when performing searches and making a
selection for booking.
After research and discussion, HEDNA members have put forward a list of fields
that are desired in a structured format so as to enable faster, easier, and more
accurate distribution of hotels. This list is therefore a recommended approach
that HEDNA members can use to work with industry technology providers in adapting
and evolving the content handling in the distribution systems.

Standards - Payment Technologies Committee (formerly known as Credit Card Verification & Validation)
These groups influence industry members and organizations on the development and adoption of approved standards and industry best business practices that promote increased electronic distribution of and for hotels. They:
| Identify need for industry standards in the areas of interface, databases and privacy. |
| Communicate effectively to influence promotion and adoption of approved standards. |
| Educate membership on established standards. |
| Act as sounding board for membership. |
| Re-evaluate outdated industry standards. |
