Dear HEDNA Colleagues and Prague Registrants -

With much regret, HEDNA is canceling its Spring Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting was slated for 27-29 April at the Prague Marriott Hotel.

After weighing the various possibilities, HEDNA's Executive Committee decided the safety of Prague attendees was the utmost priority in determining whether or not to hold the meeting next week. With the status of air travel in Europe unclear, and the very real possibility that attendees could be stranded and inconvenienced, HEDNA decided it would be best to cancel the meeting.

Refunds for the registration fees for HEDNA's Spring Meeting in Prague will be processed over the next few weeks, so please watch your credit card statements for your refund.

We have heard from many members that their companies are suspending travel within Europe, given the uncertainty of the volcanic eruptions in Iceland and the resulting volcanic ash in the atmosphere. No one knows if the eruptions will continue or worsen.

HEDNA is not alone in deciding to cancel its event. Many events across Europe are being put on hold until it's safe again to travel by air.

To HEDNA members who were traveling and remain stranded, we offer our heartfelt sympathy and best wishes for a safe arrival at your home base.

While we hope to reschedule the Spring Meeting, it is too early to make a firm decision on that option.
